Durability has always been a distinctive trait of Nike’s products, but only when you realize you don’t have to apply changes to projects throughout their whole existence you know you hit the mark.

That’s what is happening to Foamposite. The Nike technology patented in 1997 still sees wide usage. Versatility of the material is such that it can be used on multiple models, from Air Foamposite to Air Max, from Air Force to cleats.

Foamposite is a synthetic derivative of polyurethane (a generally soft polymer that is then molded and left to solidify in the required shape) and was used for the first time by Nike in 1997 on a pair of Air Foamposite, released for the occasion. Nike’s goal was to create a synthetic fabric that could be intended for prolonged use without consequences on the material itself and that could give the opportunity to achieve high-level performance without sacrificing the comfort of the shoe at the same time. Foamposite not only succeeded in encompassing every mentioned  features, but thanks to its elastic capacity it gave to the shoe the possibility to adapt to any different fit.

Despite the predisposition for basketball shoes (which by definition require high stability in more delicate points) Foamposite was later reused on different silhouettes, getting amazing results.

Some models are still available online on our website.
