The collaboration between A$AP Rocky and Under Armor had already been hinted last year but only during last few days have we had the confirm of a release of a brand new sneaker.
During the "Rat Lab" performance art piece in New York (broadcasted live on YouTube as well) A$AP Rocky identified himself in a laboratory experiment surrounded by scientists who “rewarded” him with the latest model of shoes. At first glance the new model of Under Armor (in part already shown by Rocky on his Instagram profile) reminds a lot of skateboard shoes used between late 90s and early 2000s; moreover the exaggerated proportions and the bold sole perfectly resume the trend of chunky shoes started in 2017, reflecting the strong influence that the American rapper has within the sneaker game. The only details that can be guessed from video recordings and images are the mesh upper, the black leather upper panels and the padded tongue.
We do not have an official release date yet but (as for Travis Scott and his Air Force 1 and Jordan 4) there’s no better time to release a new sneakers than simultaneously with a new album, isn’t it? Stay tuned for more information.
