Aesthetically talking, Bearbricks (or Be@rbricks, as the term graphically rendered is) actually remember toys in all respects, but the reality is that these "bears" are real pieces of art. Each statuette comes from the collaboration between the brand Medicom, the manufacturer, and various artists, brands and celebrities, who give them prestige.

The first Bearbrick was distributed as a free gift to visitors of the World Character Convention 12 in Tokyo in 2001. Few years later, the phenomenon spread all over the world and attracted the attention of many artists who undertook collaborations with the brand itself. Nike, Chanel, Kaws, Clot and Star Wars are just some of the countless personalities that collaborated with the Japanese manufacturer. They made sure that its popularity increased dramatically, up to the point that some of the finest statuettes can be found to cost up to almost $ 200,000.

These main aspects made simple plastic objects into rare collector's items. The exclusivity made them jewels among the most desired by hypebeast of the whole world and limited production has allowed the interest in them never to die.
