Men Under Armour

Under Armor, based in Baltimore, United States, was founded in 1996 by Kevin Plank, who was then 23 years old and had played in a college football team.

Hence the company name: "armor" means "armor" and indicates the protections worn by football players to protect themselves. "Under" means "below": the idea of Plank was in fact to make a shirt that remained dry during training, and that did not absorb the sweat. To realize it, Plank was inspired by the breathable fabrics used in women's underwear.

The company became very famous in the United States in 1999, when its leaders appeared in two films on football: "Every damn Sunday" by Oliver Stone and "The reserves" by Howard Deutch
