Hoka One One is a brand of sports shoes designed for running.
Founded in 2009 in Annecy, France by Jean-Luc Diard and Nicolas Mermoud both with strong experience in Salomon, now based in Goleta, California.
The brand has begun to attract attention in the race sector by producing shoes with large soles, dubbed "maximalist" shoes because of the maxi sole. Today Hoka produces both low-profile shoes and "maxi outsole" on the road, trail and off-road. Throughout its product line, Hoka shoes maintain features like a low weight-geometry ratio of the sole designed to promote inherent stability and an efficient step.
