There is a sneaker that started it all, a legendary sneaker from the eternal look, coming from the inspiration of the legendary designer Tinker Hatfield. Today we have the opportunity to examine it and wear it as the creator intended.
The "Sketch to Shelf" faithfully reproduces the notes and colors pinned by Tinker during the process of creating the Air Max 1: the mudguards, the Swoosh and the gray panels of the upper are only partially colored and the tab shows the logo initially conceived by the artist. The notes on the sole and upper reveal Hatfield's early ideas, while on the inner lining an inscription reads “SKETCH, PROPERTY OF NIKE NOT FOR RESALE”.
The Nike Air Max 1 "Sketch to Shelf" will be available online from Saturday, 20 July.
